Do I need to pre-book a camp site?
Yes, at this stage you need to arrange your own camp site booking. Please do this prior to booking your caravan! During school holidays it gets very busy and camp sites may not be available. Please book early to avoid disappointment. We are happy to give you advise on the best sites based on your preferences. Please contact us.
What is your cancellation policy?
Due to the fact that Ningaloo Reef is fairly remote and people usually plan their travel months ahead, we normally don’t get last minute bookings. Once a booking for a caravan is done but then cancelled at a later stage, it is very hard for us to re-sell these dates. This is why we have a more strict cancellation policy in place:
(a) The Hirer must advice the Company in writing about their cancellation. Email is acceptable. It will take effect from the day it is received by the Company.
(b) In case of a cancellation by the hirer – for a 50% refund of the total rental fees, cancellation must be made fourteen full days prior commencement of the booking.
(c) If the Hirer cancels less than fourteen full days in advance, 25% of the rental fees will be refunded.
If the cancellation is less than 7 full days in advance, no rental fees will be refunded to the hirer.
(d) Cleaning fees will always be refunded in full, if the booking has not commenced yet.
(e) No fees are being refunded if the Hirer decides to return the Trailer early.
(f) The Company reserves the right to cancel a hire for reasons which are outside of the Company’s control including but not limited to evacuations due to severe weather events (cyclone, flooding, bush fire, etc.) or damage to the Trailer from the previous hire which can not be fixed in time and will severely impact the Hirer. In case of a cancellation by the Company, all fees paid will be refunded to the Hirer. The refund is limited to the total amount of rental fees paid and the Company will not accept liability for any other charges or fees the Hirer incurred in association with the booking (e.g. flight tickets, transfers, accommodation charges, etc.)
What is your Coronavirus/COVID-19 refund policy?
The following policy applies in addition to our cancellation policy for bookings effected by COVID-19:
Scenario 1: Unplug Rentals can’t operate due to lock down of our area locally or state wide, or because of a shut down of our business required by law or legislation or due to be deemed a close contact of a confirmed case or a high risk venue.
→ All deposits will be refunded in full.
Scenario 2: You are not allowed to travel to our area of operation due to state border closure or localised shut downs within WA or if you are in a (locked down) local hotspot-area interstate.
→ Our standard cancellation policy applies, but we will offer you a voucher over the amount already paid to us and will work with you to find a suitable time to transfer your booking to a later date, subject to availability.
Scenario 3: You are unable to travel due to personal circumstances such as exposure to Coronavirus or a COVID-19 diagnosis and/or are required to self isolate/quarantine or are not allowed to enter Western Australia or our region of operation within Western Australia because of your vaccination status.
→ Our standard cancellation policy applies. We strongly advise to take out travel insurance!
Are there showers and toilets in Cape Range national park?
Cape Range national park offers basic camping only. There are no showers, but all campgrounds have clean and well maintained bush toilets (aka OZ-Bush Loo, drop toilets, long drop).
Do you have 4WDs and tow vehicles for hire?
No, we currently don’t offer tow vehicles for hire. Externally hired towing vehicles can’t be used to tow our caravans. Don’t worry though – you can still camp in our caravans by selecting a glamping package with your booking – we deliver, set up and pack down the caravan at your booked campsite!
Where is the pick-up location?
All our trailers are located in Exmouth, Western Australia. We can deliver within a 250 km radius. Get in touch with us to discuss your travel plans.
There is no electric brake controller in my tow vehicle. What can we do?
No problem! We have a portable break controller for hire. Costs are $65/hire.
Can I hire the caravan for two days?
Sorry, our minimum rental period is between 3 – 5 nights, depending on the season and type of caravan or trailer. You may choose to stay for only two days, but the minimum charge for a 3–5 nights rental (depending on season) will still apply due to labour and administration time involved.
Do we need a generator and do you have gensets for hire?
No, all our caravans and trailers are self sufficient and off-grid ready. All have USB device charging points, some have 240V inverters. We don’t offer generators for hire.
Can we camp right on the beach?
Unfortunately, regulations and locations of campsites within Cape Range national park make it impossible to fulfil this wish. Campsites are set back between 50–100 metres from the beach, often behind a sand dune. The only place where beach camping is possible is at Warroora Station.
What is a glamping package and how do I book it?
Our glamping packages include delivery, set up and pack down of your caravan up to a radius of 250 kms from Exmouth. Once you’ve selected your caravan for the duration of your stay, you can select your glamping package and location on the booking form.
Are there any restrictions?
The renter needs to be 25 years or older. NO smoking in van or attached annexes. Absolutely NO storing of fish or bait in the fridge/freezer!
Our caravans must not be towed into the following areas: Any beaches or islands where exposure to salt water is likely; other locations (like estuaries) where contact with salt water is likely.
Any areas where the caravans or trailers will be immersed in salt water, fresh water or muddy water where the immersion level will exceed the height of the wheel bearing caps, or on overgrown, narrow tracks which may cause damage to side panels. Damages resulting from failure to comply with the above restrictions will be the responsibility of the hirer.
How much does it cost?
Prices start from AUD 105 per day, but vary due to season, demand, length of stay and optional extras booked. You can check live availability and pricing via our website.
I haven't towed a caravan before. Can I choose self drive?
Towing experience is required to tow our caravans and trailers. Don’t let this put you off though – we offer a unique delivery, set-up and pack-down service which our guests love! Please select one of our glamping packages when booking your caravan.
Do you offer one way rentals?
As a small local operator we are currently not able to offer one way rentals.
I can see the caravan available in the calendar, but I can't book it for three days?
The minimum rental period for some of our caravans is 4 days, increasing to 5 days for all caravans during peak season and school holidays. Please modify your dates in the search form.
Can we take the trailers off-road?
Our caravans are intended for highway use, however, they can handle short stretches of gravel road conditions. Please let us know what your travel plans are prior to your rental so we can discuss possible options. Please keep in mind insurance will only be valid on gazetted roads and any damage to the roof or under body won’t be covered and the security bond will be higher if you plan to travel on unsealed roads.
We want to hire it for a month. Do you have discounts?
Absolutely! We offer discounts on our daily hire rates for rentals longer than 7, 14 or 28 days. To see pricing, simply search for a caravan via our check availability form and enter your dates. Please note that additional services are not eligible for long term discounts.
